We welcome your referrals to the Institute for Adults Living with Communication Disabilities. In this time of ever diminishing coverage for rehabilitation services, many patients wish to continue or supplement therapy beyond what their health insurance will cover.
What services do you provide?
We offer individual therapy and a variety of groups. The groups provide valuable opportunities for socialization and chances to practice communication skills in a comfortable setting. Our groups include support groups, discussion groups, caregiver groups, and computer classes.
What types of clients attend the Institute?
We provide services for clients with a variety of communication and cognitive disorders: aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitive deficits, voice disorders and Parkinson’s disease.
What are your hours?
Sessions are available throughout the day and early evening. Most clients attend two days a week.
When should I refer clients?
Most clients begin therapy at the Institute after they have completed a course of therapy in an outpatient setting. Some however choose to supplement their therapy and attend both the Institute and a hospital or rehabilitation center.
How can I refer clients?
As part of the referral process, we will request a recent report on the client.
