PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Graduate Certification Program for Principals is designed for students who possess a master’s de­gree, have five years experience teaching or in educational services and wish only to receive certification as a Principal.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the University’s admission requirements:

  • Baccalaureate and master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • New Jersey Instructional or Educational Services Certificate
  • Five years experience under the appropriate certificate
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Professional Resume/CV
  • Personal statement
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores (for applicants whose native language is not English). Exceptions can be made for students who have completed at least 6 credits of college level English courses from a U.S. institution, or who have submitted SAT or ACT exam scores.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • 18-30 credits
  • Students already possessing a supervisor certificate will not be required to complete Module ll (if this work was completed outside of Kean, all remaining courses must be taken at Kean)
  • Five years experience under the appropriate certificate

MODULE IV – 6 CREDITS
EL 5813 Clinical Practicum in Administration and Supervision I 3 credits
EL 5814 Clinical Practicum in Administration and Supervision II 3 credits
