Program Description

The Master’s program in Special Education with emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Autism is designed for those seeking to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This program option provides in-depth knowledge and skills in the application of behavioral analysis assessments and intervention strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders as they are being served within their educational placement.  The goal of this program is also to provide the required coursework while bridging between the implementation of behaviorism with other disciplines using a transdisciplinary model.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the University’s admissions requirements:

● Baccalaureate degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
● Official transcripts from all institutions attended
● Three Letters of Recommendation (professional experience)
● An appropriate scholarly writing sample
● Professional resume/CV
● Personal Statement
● Official TOEFL or IELTS score reports

The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® has approved the following course sequence (SPED 5701, SPED 5702, SPED 5705, SPED 7901, SPED 7902, & SPED 7903) as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst  Examination®. Applicants will have to meet additional requirements to qualify.

Pass-rate data are not published for sequences with fewer than six first-time candidates in a single year or for sequences within their first four years of operation.

* Some Master’s Candidates may have complete a course that is accepted if the previous course satisfies the BACB requirement.
