No.  When you take the PRAXIS, ETS will give an option to have your results sent to Kean and the State of New Jersey.  **Please note that you must include your social security number on the test application or the State will not be able to match the results to your application, resulting in your state certification application to remain in a pending status.

How do I pay for my certification application?
All fees can be paid at Student Accounting, Administration Building, 3rdfloor.  A copy of the payment receipt must accompany the application.  Fees can be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit card. (Credit cards are charged a 2.58% processing fee and are only accepted at the Administration Building).

How long will it take to get my certification?
If applying through Kean, students can expect to receive their certificates directly from Trenton approximately six weeks after grades are posted.  Once Kean electronically delivers the applications to the New Jersey Department of Education, you may track the status of your application through the State by clicking here.

Why should I apply through Kean and not on my own?
By applying through Kean, you can ensure that your paperwork will be delivered in the most timely and efficient manner possible.  The electronic delivery system that we use has been proven to not only expedite the process, but also ensure that the necessary information is received by the appointed delegate who is the only person to handle applications from our institution.  Furthermore, you can contact our office at anytime with questions regarding the certification process or the status of your application.  Finally, the fees are the same whether you apply on your own or allow us to do the work for you!
